Amazon’s AI shopping agent moves into text messages, taking orders and tracking prices

Amazon is introducing texting capabilities for its Alexa for Shopping AI agent, initially available to a select group of invited U.S. customers. This tool allows users to search for products, compare various options, track prices, and place orders directly via text messages. Additionally, sponsored products may appear within the agent's text replies, a feature that is currently free for advertisers. The rollout expands the functionality of the AI shopping agent into mobile messaging.
