YouTube expands AI deepfake detection for politicians, government officials, and journalists

YouTube is expanding its AI deepfake detection tool to include politicians, journalists, and government officials, allowing them to flag unauthorized likenesses for removal. Previously limited to Hollywood stars and top creators, the platform will pilot the feature with a select group of high‑profile users starting Tuesday. The tool functions like Content ID, scanning for AI‑generated content.
